BICYCLE REPAIR

Since 1992, Storm Endurance has served Central North Carolina’s endurance recreational athlete’s repair service needs. We have been there through the evolution of the mountain bike, from no suspension systems, to the all mountain, middle and long travel, disc brake systems of today.

We have evolved with road bikes from 25-pound, steel frame, 5 speed machines to today’s 15-pound, carbon and titanium, 11 speed machines.

At Storm Endurance, you will find a friendly service staff with years of experience servicing, building, riding, training and racing with Triathlon, touring, comfort, mountain, and Road bikes.

We look forward to getting you back riding when you have repair problems. Whether you need a repair on your $79.99 department store bike or your $5000.00 time trial bike, the Storm Endurance service department is here to help.

Here’s how it works:

  • Bring in your bike.
  • Will use our experience to give you an accurate estimate.
  • We’ll tell you when it will be finished.
  • We’ll call you to pick it up.

It’s that easy!

What is a Tune up?

All tune ups are not created equal and it can be a relative term based on the viewpoint and skills of the person who does the service. At Storm Endurance our mechanics are skilled and follow a specific routine, so all of our tune ups are the same:

  • A tune up is all and any exterior adjustments, check, lube and cleaning that does not require adding or removing parts and is always done in this order:
  • True (straighten and align) wheels
  • Adjust brakes and lube cables
  • Adjust shifting and lube cables
  • Adjust any external bearings that may be out of proper adjustment (hubs, headset
  • Check all bolts for proper torque
  • General cleaning of drivetrain and lubrication
  • Clean and shine entire bicycle
  • Cost is $85

How often do you need a tune up?

Time varies depending on rider weight and severity of riding conditions

  • Mountain bike ridden exclusively on trails: Every 20-40 hours of ride time.
  • Mountain bike commuter or hybrid type bike: Every 30-60 hrs of ride time
  • Road bike: Every 50-100 hrs of ride time

Do I need a Tune up when I do not notice anything wrong with my bike?

Often on a bicycle working parts can be fine-tuned and further adjusted properly even though there are no symptoms the user recognizes. When you bring your bike to us for a free check over, we systematically check all parts for proper operation. If there are only a few components out of adjustment, we can certainly do ala carte repairs. On a tune up there is the added value of every component will be fine-tuned and adjusted properly in addition to the problematic ones to leave your bike humming!
